Earth Care Summit, “Breath of Life: Earth’s Atmosphere.” 5:30 to 9 p.m. (registration and display tables begin at 5 p.m.) at First Christian Church, 1314 SW Park Ave., Portland. (There will also be a pre-event “Taste of Earth Care” reception, featuring an organic vintner; see above for details.) EMO’s Interfaith Network for Earth Concerns and Oregon Interfaith Power & Light invite all congregations seeking to be more faithful in Earth care to our fifth annual event. Entitled “Breath of Life: Earth’s Atmosphere,” the focus will be on clean air and a stable climate in the context of faith and spiritual practice. Speakers will include Oregon State Treasurer Ted Wheeler and Bob Doppelt, coordinator of the Climate Ethics Campaign and executive director of Resource Innovation Group. Practical and local actions for congregations, individuals and communities will also be provided. Come network with others and be inspired! Cost for the Earth Care Summit (includes seasonal dinner): $25 per person; $15 for students; $200 for tables of eight (download registration brochure or register online).
