Caroljean Willie, S.C. and Board member of Ohio Interfaith Power & Light will keynote this year.

We are experiencing a pivotal moment in the world’s awareness and acceptance of the challenge of climate change.  Some evidence of this: the widespread acclamation for Pope Francis’ first encyclical letter, Laudato Si; the issuing of bold, new Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations that speak to every nation on earth; the resulting anticipation around the Paris Conference on Climate Change.  There is a growing recognition around the planet that we must put into action plans that will be effective both within and across national boundaries.

Join the Mount community on April 14 as Sister Caroljean Willie shares her perspective on this important topic which affects all of us.

Caroljean Willie, S.C. holds a Ph.D. in Multicultural Education. She has extensive experience working cross-culturally throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America as a teacher, principal, teacher-trainer, cultural diversity consultant and retreat director. S. Caroljean is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences and has also given presentations in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America. She recently completed two terms of office as the NGO representative at the United Nations for the Sisters of Charity Federation and continues to work with micro financing projects in Africa. She is just beginning her service here as the Program Director for EarthConnection.

Please plan to join us for an interesting, thought provoking presentation that will allow you to consider climate change and the search for the common good—April 14th, 2016, at 9:25am in the Mount Theatre.
