Other Activities:

1) Several UUFC members attended Dec. 2012 coal hearings in Portland Oregon and Vancouver Washington as anti-coal export citizen witnesses.

2) Our Board via our social justice action group (SJAG) and environmental action council (EAC) has approved focused congregational education and action efforts  which will include intergenerational programs. We have already encouraged our 300+ membership to join our local 350.Org chapter.(350corvallis.org)

3 ) EAC (Environmental Action Committee) has ongoing education programs and helps us  maintain our UUA Green Sanctuary 2010 designation.

4) As a congregation we voted to support Earth Charter, a global effort in 2006 which includes a focus on healthy planet principals.

5) UUFC’s SJAG (Social Justice  Action Group) organized a MLK Stand In Solidarity courthouse prayer vigil  January  15 in support of the interfaith moral climate action rally at the White House. Speakers included five local faith leaders and city counselman.

6) SJAG will coordinate a congregational dialog related to 350org’s global divestment in fossil fuel program.

7) We are organizing efforts to send representatives to the 350.org and Sierra club President’s Day Rally in Washington, D.C. Feb 17. This event is a call to president Obama to withhold support of the Keystone XL pipeline and to address other urgent climate change issues.

8) UUFC will reassess  our focus as part of our earth day celebration efforts April 22 2013
