Devotional gathering and conversation on global warming, February 12th — PROTECTING THE MOST VULNERABLE
“A fundamental component of resolving the climate change challenge will be the cultivation of values, attitudes and skills that give rise to just and sustainable patterns of human interaction with the environment.”
(Bahá’í International Community, “Seizing the Opportunity: Redefining the challenge of climate change“, 2008)

“The best beloved of all things in My sight is Justice; turn not away therefrom if thou desirest Me, and neglect it not that I may confide in thee. By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not through the knowledge of thy neighbor. Ponder this in thy heart; how it behoveth thee to be.  Verily justice is My gift to thee and the sign of My loving-kindness. Set it then before thine eyes.”
(Baha’u’llah, The Arabic Hidden Words, #2)
Dear friends and neighbors — This Tuesday evening, February 12th, we invite you to join us in our home for a special devotional gathering and conversation as we, along with people of diverse faiths across the country, take part in the National Preach-in on Global Warming.  The theme is “protecting the most vulnerable” — a theme directly related to climate change, which has been associated with the kinds of impacts being felt by communities worldwide, from East Coast residents hit by Superstorm Sandy to Midwestern farmers besieged by drought, to people on islands in the Pacific whose homelands are literally being engulfed by the Pacific Ocean due to rising seas.
A devotional gathering and conversation on global warming this Tuesday evening, Feb. 12!

We’ll read and reflect on selected sacred writings on the theme. We will also uplift and refresh our souls with music, and offer prayers as the spirit moves us.  We’ll conclude with conversation accompanied by tea and refreshments.

We’ll also say prayers for anyone in need, so if you can’t join us and would like to request prayers please call in advance (see below) or email us at the.adriances@gmail.com.

We hope you can join us!

Warmest greetings,
