Green Commute Sunday

Sunday, April 24, 2016 – 9:00am
Large Assembly & Sanctuary

As part of the series Easter to Earth Day (April 10, 17 & 24), the Green Ministry Team is organizing the Fourth AnnualGreen Commute Sunday forApril 24. Everyone is invited to use the most environmentally friendly form of transportation to church. You could bike, walk, use public transportation, orcarpool.

Green commuters can have their bikes, walking shoes, transit cards and carpool keys blessed at 10:45 in the courtyard. Cyclists will be invited to bring their bikes up to the chancel at the beginning of the 11 am service.

This is an effort to encourage everyone to come to church in the greenest way possible every Sunday of the year.

We will welcome guest preachers Rev. Diane Weible on April 10 (both services) and local climate activist and “Green the Church” founder Rev. Dr. Ambrose Carroll on April 17 (11 am).

Also come hear a representative from Save the Bay present important information about Measure AA for a Clean & Healthy Bay, which is on theJune 7 ballot, during the Learning Hour on Sunday, April 17 at 10 am.

We invite you to submit photos of your favorite place in the world—a
place where you connect with God or a place you are committed to protecting
in the face of climate change—to Kit Novotny (knovotny@fccb.org). Your favorite place will make an appearance onscreen in worship on Earth Day Sunday, April 24.
