Join us the Sunday after Earth Day for a Justice Sunday. Our service will be led by Susannah Tuttle, Director of North Carolina Interfaith Power & Light, and our collection that day will go to support NCIPL.
UUFR was accredited as a Green Sanctuary by the Unitarian Universalist Association in 2013. The Green Sanctuary program of the UUA provides a path for congregational study, reflection, and action in response to environmental challenges. During the course of the program, congregations engage in an assessment of their community context, current practices, and programs and complete projects over the course of 1-4 years to address identified issues. Congregations also engage with issues of environmental justice and sustainable living through worship, religious education and social action.
