People of all faiths and cultures are invited to join in a day of community service and fellowship at the Columbus Global Academy – 4077 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43224 (the old Brookhaven High School). The Global Academy is an ESL school in the Columbus Public School District. Over 50 countries are represented at the school with students from sixth to twelfth grades attending. The goal of this service day is to make the building a more welcoming environment for the wide variety of students. Projects will include painting and gardening in the courtyards and helping to construct a soccer field for students to use. A community potluck and celebration with music will follow the work portion of the day.

The event will be held on Earth Day – Sunday, April 22, 2018. Volunteers are encouraged to join us in welcoming new people in our community as we share our time, talents, and skills. School Internship hours and Care & Share Time Bank hours are provided. Young people ages 12-18 are welcomed to volunteer with adult permission .

Please let us know you are coming by reserving tickets. General skills are those who are able to paint, garden, etc.Construction skills a those who have knowledge of power tools such as drills, saws, etc. Construction skilled people would be able to do repair/building projects. Please reserve spaces for the potluck as well.
