The theme of the 2015 Preach-In is the “Paris Pledge,” which is aimed at influencing global leaders when they gather in Paris in December to hopefully finalize a legally binding international treaty to cut greenhouse gas emissions. By signing the Paris Pledge, we are committing to curb our household or house of worship’s carbon footprint in half by 2030, with a goal of being carbon neutral by 2050. These are the reductions we need global leaders to commit to in order to stop catastrophic climate change and protect our children’s future. What’s at stake? The Baha’i Faith speaks of an ever-advancing civilization: is stabilizing the climate part of that? What about all of the other injustices? How can we participate in –or even lead– this effort?
Youth, well-behaved and interested Junior Youth and non-Baha’is welcome.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Space limited. Please send RSVP to Bahai.Faith.Libertyville.Tnsp@gmail.com.
