Speaker…..Jeffery Dukes is Associate Professor of Forestry and Natural Resources, Biological Sciences at Purdue University. He is the director of the Boston Area Climate Experiment, that conducts research to discover ecosystem response to climate change. Jeffery also leads the Integrated Network for Terrestrial Ecosystem Research on Feedbacks to the Atmosphere and Climate (INTERFACE),that serves as a global link to those involved in environmental change research, and is involved in the Purdue Climate Change Research Center.
Prof. Dukes will talk about methane release from permafrost and methyl hydrates as a feedback response to warming. He will also discuss ecosystem response to climate change, impacts of invasive species on ecosystems, and the ecological consequences of biofuel development.
