What You Should Know About The Seafood You Eat! The GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY!!!
What are the best seafood choices and why? Does it matter how seafood is harvested or farmed? What seafood is healthy/unhealthy for me? We will explore various commercial fishing methods, including fish farming, and their impacts on the marine environment. This information will empower you to make healthy seafood choices that also help sustain the world’s fisheries and the marine environment.
Steve Hendricks grew up on the Central Coast. He holds a B.S. in Fish Biology from Humboldt State, an M.S. in Fish Biology from Oregon State, and worked for more than a decade as a fish biologist in California, Alaska, Oregon and Idaho. For the past 10 years he has taught biology at Cuesta and Hancock Colleges. Steve is an avid fisherman who is very concerned about the future health of our oceans.
